...and it's a winner! As in not only 56,910 words, but the story is finished. Wow! What a ride. It's taken me three days to write the last 2000 words. Once again, the story surprised me and there was another Once Upon A Time. This time it was "The Inconsolable Longing" told by the Gypsy, making Madame Selah Walinska the only character other than Steven who told more than one story. It was perfect.
Now, here is just another tidbit for you who are or are about to become loyal readers of Stn George & The Dragon: I've left an Easter Egg in the story for you! Yes, there is something special about this story that will never be seen in print. It is only visible to those who actually read the story, and you will have to watch for it. It might not sink in all at once. If you discover it, feel free to post back here in a comment and see if you are right.
I was amused by the fact that DW recently re-read all Sue Grafton's alphabet mysteries. It was only when she had read nearly all of them that she said, "Did you realize that the victim's name always starts with the same letter as the book?" No, I hadn't. I've been reading them for years. So, think about that.
